Marco Aurélio Spohn is an Associate Professor of Computer Science  at the Federal University of Campina Grande (UFCG), where he performs research in the fields of computer networks, distributed systems, grid computing, wireless ad hoc networks, and wireless sensor networks.

Prof. Spohn received his B.S. and M.S. in computer science from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in 1995 and 1997 respectively. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from University of California at Santa Cruz (UCSC) in 2005. During his Ph.D. Marco was part of the Computer Communications Research Group headed by Prof. J. J. Garcia-Luna-Aceves (Academic Genealogy!!!).
